A potpourri of terrorism, secret and an integral nuclear holocaust threatening to unleash it-self, NEXT is focused around Cris Johnson (or must we say, Magic Johnson?) a showroom wizard from Nevada.

Cris has a secret gift that is perhaps not as menacing as the multiplier-effect of-the Prestige, but equally tormenting having its limits in addition to potential. Cris Johnson gets the ability to look into the near future, but only a few minutes into it. Its difficult to change the future if all-you got really are a few minutes, right? Still you will find things he is able to affect the results of, ergo the extreme interest of particular agencies in his abilities, with their own vested interests.

Fed up by the interest-overkill in his unpleasant present by medical institution and the outside world government, and the various tests he underwent as a young child -- he goes underground. Keeping a low-profile under an assumed name in Vegas, h-e gets by, living off small-time gambling profits and doing inexpensive methods. But especially talented individuals are also especially wanted -- in this case, to get a requirement.

Every thing is fine until a terrorist group threatens to detonate a nuclear device in Los Angeles. The countdown to termination begins and time is running out. Government agent Callie Ferris uses most of her smiles and wiles to get rid of and spot Cris to encourage the tormented hero in to helping her stop the imminent cataclysm and beat the ticking clock. Cris is finally faced with the challenging choice of keeping the world or -- hold your breath -- the lady he loves. Oh, is that clich or what? And all that in just under a couple of hours!
